Kazakhstan and Egypt increasing number of flights between countries from 14 to 48 per week

ASTANA. May 7 (Interfax) - The aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and Egypt have agreed to increase the number of flights between the countries, the press service of Kazakhstan's Transport Ministry said.

"Upon completion of the negotiations [in Astana], the parties agreed to increase the total number of permitted flights between the countries from 14 to 48 per week, as well as permitted points from two to three for each party," the press service said.

Additionally, the parties plan to boost the number of designated carriers. Specifically, Kazakhstan's Fly Arystan will join Air Astana and SCAT airlines to operate regular flights between the countries, and Egypt's EgyptAir, EgyprAir Cargo, and Air Cairo will join Red Sea and Nile Air airlines to operate regular flights between the countries.

"Meantime, the two countries' respective airlines may enter into commercial agreements between themselves according to the agreements reached. The two parties' respectively designated airlines plan to boost the number of flights and expand the area of flights between the countries based on the agreements reached," the press service said.
