Preparations for Putin's visit to China being finalized - Peskov

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - Preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China are being finalized, and the agenda includes numerous issues around further developing bilateral relations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Preparations for the trip are being finalized. [...] The agenda includes numerous issues of mutual interest with an emphasis on further developing highly multifaceted bilateral cooperation," Peskov told reporters on Friday.

The visit date will be announced "upon coordination with Chinese partners," he said.

"Today, any contacts between the leaders of Russia and China are an event that attracts the attention of the entire world. Russia and China are sovereign countries, which cherish their sovereignty, experience pressure from the West, and stand on their own feet well enough to withstand this pressure," Peskov said.

Putin said on Thursday that he was planning to visit China in May.
